Arm bracers made for my friend Ian. I was making them for myself but decided that perhaps they might be a little to tight on my arms. And as I was planning on making him some anyway I just brought that project forward a little.
It's also the first time I've tried any form of decorative markings on any of my finished pieces, all 3 of them, and I think it turned out quite well. It's the 'Tsuki' Kanji, I'm not sure what it means but I know Ian could tell me. |

"Tsuki" means "moon", by the way. There's a reason for me bearing that name that starts in 'real' life rather than Dreaming Awake, actually. But now is probably not the time or the place
And have you noticed that the right one has the Kanji just to the right of center :s

I first soaked the leather flat warm water for an hour or two, then I simply marked the Kanji out on some tracing paper and proceeded to gently mark the design in using a hammer and what I think is an old flat head screwdriver. This done I rotated using the screwdriver like a stylus to deepen and neaten out the lines, and hammering it in deeper. At one point I gently ran a craft knife around the lines before continueing which seemed to help the lines stay better.
It's all a bit crude but I found it works.
